https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOOI5LbQ9B8

Starting with a quick video under 14 minutes — this shows the amount of discarded clothing that goes to waste, what India does with it, and the lives of the women who handle sorting these clothes

2) Trashion: The Stealth Export of Waste Plastic Clothes to Kenya

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISM0wyBdggs

Coming in under 13 minutes, this video shows how Kenya is dealing with the alarming amount of discarded clothing. The effects of poorly made clothing are hurting the local community in many ways— the air they breathe, the rivers running through the community, and the living they try to make for themselves. This video shows the effects of synthetic clothing on the environment, and the importance of brands taking responsibility for the end life of their discarded clothing.

3) The Next Black: A Film About the Future of Clothing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCsGLWrfE4Y

A longer video than the previous two, just under 47 minutes. This documentary chronicles some really cool pioneers in the industry from Suzanne Lee and her “bio-couture” — sustainable fabric made in a lab to Sophie Mather and her experiments with creating “dry-dye” as an environmentally friendly solution to dyeing fabrics without using a single drop of water. The technology uses a highly compressed gas known as supercritical carbon dioxide to dye the textiles — uses 50% less energy and 50% less chemicals.
